Merry Christmas..

This will be my last post for a while since we are heading out for the holidays. I am so excited, my hubby is coming home tonight and then tomorrow morning (early) we are leaving to drive to my parents place. So today I hope to pack everything and clean the house a bit (so it's not so bad when we get back). Last night I was up late making some yummy cookies that I am taking along, and I still have a few gifts to wrap as well.. not much time left now. I am excited to see my son unwrapping his gifts, it should be more fun this year, mind you he'll probably unwrap one gift and then want to play with it and not finish his other gifts :) I should go up town this morning but I'm afraid to - I know it's gonna be CRAZY with shoppers.. but hubby figured I NEED to buy more discs for the camcorder - I think I'm gonna try find some in our basement so I won't have to go uptown! Well I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, safe travels and a blessed Christmas day, remembering why we celebrate!

just wednesday

So I had Kaelyn in last week for her two month shots.. I was about a week late with them because I didn't want her to get them before our trip and then be cranky the whole way.. she did pretty good altho she was a little irritable.. my big girl weighed in at a whopping 14 lbs!! and 23.5 inches tall! I'm so glad that she's so healthy in that way! In other news, I now know why my son has been more cranky and intolerable (not to say he's intolerable, he just has his days where he wears my patience down pretty fast - most 2yr old's are good at that) than usual - besides the fact that he's cutting 3 - 2yr molars - he does indeed have an ear infection (the first he's had) so that's why my sweetie has disappeared and a cranky, runny-nosed 2yr old is in his place.. oh why does it all happen at once?? please tell me I will look back one day and wish these days back :) I love my kids so much - I look at them and they are such miracles - God has blessed me so much, some days I forget that...

Pictures as promised

These three girls were all born within four days of each other.. (all from our church)

TJ's new haircut.. he rubs his head and says Daddy, because his dad has the same haircut!

So sweet together!
Grandma and the kids...

my gurl is growing up too fast!!

I'm Back...

So I'm back.. I just spent a wonderful week out in Saskatchewan! I got to visit with my brothers and SIL and some old friends and got to see the parents and brother in law... and we made it back safe and sound.. just me and the two kids! I had a good time, and Valean you need to email those pics to me!! my son got a haircut.. or more like a buzz cut :) he needed it really bad.. and it's hilarious, he rubs his head and says 'daddy' because his dad has the same haircut as him :) it is snowing like crazy out here and I just got inside from shovelling our driveway.. who needs a workout, just shovel snow!! my daughter just had her two month shots and is doing pretty good already, she was a little cranky for a day or two but nothing difficult.. and my son is currently cutting 3 - 2yr molar teeth.. ugh!! i'm hoping that's why he's been REALLY cranky and REALLY whiney (because it's getting to me already!) well I gotta run, the boys up from his nap.. maybe tomorrow i'll have time to download pics from my camera. wow, has it been that long??

So I decided to do a little update.. altho I don't have any pictures cuz my camera is full :) We are all do just fine here.. just regular dealing with a two year old and a good little baby :) altho I am missing my hubby, for sure! I am hoping to make it to Alumni and visit my brother and SIL, so I have that to look forward to! We put up our Christmas tree already and TJ has been doing really good leaving it alone, and when ever he gets ansy to touch it I ask him to find 'his puppy' which is his ornament and that usually distracts him. I still want to put up my lights outside yet and I need to figure out what to do for my son's birthday which is also coming up soon.. December is going to be a busy month for sure!! I will try to get some new pics up soon - hope all is going well for all who read this blog!

6 weeks... ALREADY!!

this last pic is my favorite!!

gone to the gym...

so I must first apologize for my pity party post on Monday(I think it was Monday).. it was just one of those days and I needed to vent a little.. Today I did something different.. I found out about an indoor gym in the city where I took TJ and Kaelyn, and TJ could run around and play and burn a lot of energy :) I met a few other moms, it was a very nice change to being stuck inside :) plus I could actually visit with real people.. I mean adults :) so here's to hoping the weekend will be just as good as today!!Last year at this time of the year.. my boy just tryin' to get around :)

Hum Dee Dah

First of all I wish to tell those of you whose blogs I frequent, I'm sorry I haven't really had time to comment altho I would like to more often :) When I get those 1 1/2 precious hours in the afternoon I have to alternate what I'm going to do with them.. most of the time sleep or dishes win out :) I just had to say that I was so excited this morning.. it was the first time my daughter only woke up once during the night!! I finally got a decent sleep and my son decided to be nice and only wake up around 7:45 instead of 7! Things are going well for the most part, altho my DS has finally started his adjustment stage.. and it's been a little difficult and frustrating and quite negative at times!! But we are trying to pull through :) I just feel like I need a day off tho, or even just a few hours but I know that's not gonna happen for quite a while, so I can just dream of what I will do when I get there - I just need a rejuve time... it's tough being a single mom that's for sure.. at least I don't need to worry about where money's coming from tho.. oh well back to the grind.. at least I have one thing to look forward too.. moms timeout at church tomorrow morning :)

If I wasn't a SAHM I would have missed it..

It was too cute!! The other day Kaelyn was in her lounge chair and she started to cry.. as soon as I could get to her she had already stopped crying because her big brother was squatting next to her and gently stroking her head and saying 'oh Kaelyn' . It was adorable!! The next day, Kaelyn, again in her lounge chair, was sitting there looking around and TJ came up to her and she just happened to have her hand open and he tried to give her five!! But she closed her hand before he could make it happen, so he tried to pry her hand open in order to finish the deal :) I love watching my kids interact already.. I can't wait to see what the future brings..

Happy Thanksgiving

Yes I know I am late at wishing you all a happy thanksgiving - but we didn't spend thanksgiving at home :) On thursday morning my husband called and said we were going away for thanksgiving weekend and to pack up, he'd be home in an hour.. yeah!! so I ran around trying to pack for my little family, and any of you who have/have had babies know that there are so many things you need to bring for a baby, and I was trying to remember everything :) We had a really good time tho - it was so cute watching Tristian interact and play with his cousins!! It was the first time that they were all old enough to have significant interaction with each other (one is 5, TJ almost 2, one is 1 1/2). And of course TJ loved spending time with Grandma and Grandpa!! I do have some new pictures but I'll have to post them later as they are on my other computer :)

Trying to be brave...

So I was half forced to be brave on Friday - but it was also my choice too.. I had a Dr. appointment for Kaelyn and my 1 week check.. so do I hire a babysitter or decide to be brave and take both my kids? I decided I might as well take both my kids and get my first outting done with :) So I packed TJ his little backpack and my own diaper bag - packed up the kids.. and drove off to the Dr. office.. normally they are really fast at getting me in but of course that day took about 45 min of waiting!! for the first 30 min or so TJ was really good, playing with the toys and other kids.. and then he got the idea that he wanted to go to the car and I had my hands FULL trying to convince him or distract him to stay in the waiting room!! once we were in the office he was entertained once again :) and the Dr. said everything looks good for both me and the little one! My next trip out is on Sunday - I am going to try and take TJ to Sunday school and church (of course me and Kaelyn are going too) by myself - church is always the hardest because nursery doesn't start until half way through the service and TJ cannot sit still that long.. I'm lucky if he sits still for 10 minutes!! Anyway here are some more pics :) enjoy!

Birth Story

*Disclaimer* The following is my birth story - so don't read unless you want details :)

Hopefully I can finish this before my kids wake up :) So I ended up going in for induction on Thursday, September 20 - I was admitted and the nurse hooked me up to the moniter for about 15 min and then the Dr. came in and gave me the gel for induction at 9am. About 5 minutes later the contractions started coming and were 10-12 minutes apart from the start. We walked around for a while since the contractions were not too bad - around noon things started getting more intense as I was going into active labor. Around 1 pm I was ready to take something for the pain and so the nurse came and checked me at 1:30 and I was only 3-4ish cm; I was disappointed since I thought I would be further. Then at 2 she checked me again and I was 6cm and from around that time I had to really fight not to push since I was feeling the urge but my cervix was not ready yet.. I think that was the hardest part - fighting against the urge!! ...finally by 3pm I was pretty much 10cm and the nurse was able to slip the cervix around the baby's head during a contraction. So I was finally able to start pushing - things continued to be fairly intense compared to when my son was born because when we started delivery my contractions slowed right down, but not this time.. After 18 minutes of pushing my little Kaelyn was born!! So over all everything went really well and fast :) Kaelyn is doing really well - she's sleeping good at night too, so that is a lifesaver - it makes such a big difference! She nurses at 12 midnight - ish and then around 4:30-5:30 and then 8:30 - 9:30 - ish.. and Tristian seems to be adjusting fairly well altho he is still a two year old (pretty much) so tantrums are still something we have to deal with! Anyway here are some pictures :) Enjoy!

Thoughts on my last day..

So today is (unless something unexpected happens) my last day as a mother of one.. as my husband put it - 'we are going to be parents again'. Such simple words and yet it does make me reflect.. I have tried to make an effort to really enjoy my son and spend some extra time with him this past week as I know that things will be changing greatly in this household again! I am excited for tomorrow and nervous at the same time - like will I remember how to take care of a baby again? Will I be able to breastfeed again? Will my baby be good or cry all the time? will I be able to handle the hormone rush one more time? and so much more - but I know that is all normal.. and I know that things will work out just fine.. it's just one more step into the unknown :)

P.S. Check out Stacey's contest at Fun with the Friesens she is giving away a nursing bracelet from Amy May's Mei Tai's Store. Stacey's got pics and info to enter so check it out.

So by this weekend I will try to have some pics up :)

*yeah I'm still at home - any suggestions to get things going here???*

Quad rides and Muffins :)

So here are a few of the pictures that I promised :) Kevin bought Tristian a small toy quad that came with a Spiderman figure... Tristian has not put it down ever since.. the other day I caught Tristian trying to get a ride on his 'quad' :)
In the last picture he is actually sitting on the quad altho you can't really see it.. and the funny thing is he is holding onto the handlebars like a real quad!!
So today I decided to make some yummy muffins (Stacey posted the recipe on her blog a little while ago) and my son enjoyed licking the peanut butter off the scraper :) (oh and the muffins are even better than I thought!!)
Here are some other random pictures...
Tristian playing with a friends little girl.
Tristian squatting like he's ready to jump.. sometimes he walks around like this - it's so cute!
